InTravel Group CEO Dwayne Good Takes the Stage at TEDxHobart

What does it mean to grow up between two cultures, and how can those experiences shape the way we see ourselves, others and the world around us?

InTravel Group Founder and CEO Dwayne Good recently took to the TEDxHobart stage to share his personal journey of identity, belonging and the experiences that have shaped his approach to life and leadership.

Held on 1 August 2026, TEDxHobart brought together speakers from across Tasmania and beyond to explore this year’s theme, Identity, examining how our experiences, backgrounds and communities influence who we become.

For Dwayne, a proud Bundjalung man who grew up with an Aboriginal father and a non-Aboriginal mother, the theme was particularly personal.

Growing up between two cultures wasn’t always straightforward. Navigating different expectations, perspectives and experiences created challenges in understanding where he belonged and how those parts of his identity could coexist.

Through his TEDx talk, Dwayne reflects on those experiences and what can be learned from embracing different perspectives rather than allowing them to create division.

From Personal Experience to Business Leadership

Dwayne’s journey has also influenced his professional career and the values behind InTravel Group.

After building a successful career with one of Australia’s largest travel companies, Dwayne established InTravel Group with a vision to deliver exceptional corporate travel management while creating greater opportunities for First Nations participation within the industry.

Today, InTravel Group is Australia’s only 100% Indigenous-owned corporate travel agency, combining personalised travel management services with a commitment to meaningful social and economic outcomes.

Beyond the business, Dwayne has contributed to Indigenous business development initiatives, boards and advisory groups focused on strengthening First Nations enterprise and leadership across Australia.

His TEDxHobart appearance provided an opportunity to share a different side of that journey, exploring the personal experiences that have shaped his outlook and the importance of finding common ground between different cultures and perspectives.

A Conversation About Identity and Belonging

While Dwayne’s experiences are deeply personal, the ideas explored in his talk speak to broader questions about cultural identity, understanding and the value of bringing different perspectives together.

His story highlights how the experiences that challenge our sense of belonging can also help shape the way we connect with others, approach leadership and contribute to the communities around us.

We’re proud to see Dwayne share his story on the TEDxHobart stage and contribute to an important conversation about identity, culture and the experiences that connect us.
